Saint Columbkille Church
(216)
524-1987
The Music Ministries of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 6740 Broadview
Rd., Parma, and St.
Barnabas Catholic Church, 9451 Brandywine
Rd. , Northfield , invite everyone
to attend a combined holiday concert at the historic St. Stephen Church, 1930 West 54th
Street , Cleveland on Thursday, December
29 at 7:30 PM in the church. The
concert will feature Christmas favorites, carols and new arrangements sung and performed
by the combined choirs including handbell choirs from both churches.
Highlights will include multi-generational combined instrumental and
vocal choirs in performing
“Sing Joy to the World” and “Let There Be Light.” Each choir also will
perform individual selections.
This will be the second time St. Barnabas has invited another parish’s
music ministry to join them
for a concert in the inner city. In 2009, the music ministry of St.
Barnabas held a combined concert with the choir of the Solon, Ohio Church of
St. Rita at St. John Cantius in Tremont. According to Bob Burian, St. Barnabas
Music Director, these concerts provide an opportunity for a “more unified
church.” He added that choosing to hold the concert in the inner city provides
“recognition and appreciation for these beautiful churches.”
A free-will offering will be received to the St. Augustine Hunger Center . For more
information,
